Liberty’s throwing duo of Ethan Mylin (fourth in men’s javelin) and Desmond Coleman (sixth in men’s shot put) recorded top-10 finishes on Saturday, the final day of competition at the Charlotte Invitational, contested at the Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.
Mylin had a consistent series, with four of his five legal marks landing between 178-3 and his fifth-round effort of 178-10. That stood up for fourth place in the 16-member competition.
Competing in his hometown for the second day in a row, Coleman’s third-round 51-4.25 mark claimed sixth in the men’s shot put. On Friday, he had recorded a third-place men’s discus finish.
The lone Lady Flame to take part in Saturday’s events, Myiah Scott reached exactly 40 feet for 17th place in the women’s shot put.
