
Brooks’ 4th-Place Finish in Women’s 100 Final Paces Flames at Penn Relays

Liberty’s Isis Brooks raced to a fourth-place finish in the women’s 100 final, Saturday afternoon at the 127th Penn Relays. Minutes later at Franklin Field, the Flames’ Omari Lewis and Donald McClinton placed 6-7 in the men’s 100 final.
Running her fourth race in two days, Brooks notched her second top-five finish of the weekend. The defending ASUN women’s 100 champion clocked a time of 11.68 to claim fourth place in Saturday’s final. Friday evening, Brooks had run the 200-meter leadoff leg for the Lady Flames’ fifth-place sprint medley relay quartet.
Battling a 1.3 m/s headwind in the men’s 100 final, Lewis clocked 10.64 and McClinton followed closely in 10.68 to finish sixth and seventh, respectively.

The Flames will prepare for their lone home meet of the 2023 outdoor season, the Liberty Twilight Qualifier. Wednesday’s meet at the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex will close out Liberty’s regular season and will feature a Senior Day ceremony.
