
Stetson Downs Liberty 7-0 in Series Opener

The Stetson Hatters shut out the Liberty Flames 7-0, Friday evening in their ASUN series opener at Melching Field at Conrad Ballpark.
The duo of Austin Amaral and Johnathan Gonzalez combined to hold Liberty to four hits in the contest. Amaral worked around five walks over the first six innings in keeping the Flames off the scoreboard.
The Hatters struck for three in the third before breaking the game open with three more in the seventh.
The Flames drop to 10-9 in ASUN Conference play and 19-22 on the season. The Hatters improve to 13-6 in the conference and 25-17 overall.
