
Liberty Defeats Furman 19-6 to Cap Off 2-0 Home Weekend

Liberty defeated Furman 19-6 on Saturday afternoon at the Liberty Lacrosse Field to cap off a 2-0 home weekend.
The Lady Flames improve to 4-5 on the year and 3-1 at home this season. Liberty's 13-goal victory was its largest-ever margin of victory over the Paladins. Furman slips to 3-4 on the season and sees its three-game winning streak halted.
Kelly Scott scored a career high five goals to go along with two assists to lead the charge for Liberty. Scott is the second Lady Flame this season to score five goals, joining Lizzy Ferguson (Feb. 25 vs. VCU).
Liberty used multiple five-goal runs to build its lead over Furman, who struggled to keep pace with the Lady Flames' attack.
Celena Kerr added her most productive day with a career high four points (1 g, 3 a). Liberty had six players with multiple goals in the contest and 10 different goal scorers.
Liberty also improves to 3-1 all-time facing Furman.

Turning Point
After taking an 8-2 lead aided by a pair of goals from both Tori Banks and Kelly Scott, Liberty scored the next five goals in a run that spanned the end of the first half until the 10:10 mark of the third quarter. Scott added two more goals during that run, a run which pushed the Lady Flames' lead to 13-2 over the Paladins.
