Schedule Changes Announced for Liberty Invitational

Liberty (5-9) continues its program-record-long 13-game homestand this weekend, hosting UConn, Iona and Radford for the Liberty Softball Invitational. Friday's games have been cancelled and the tournament will begin on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
The Lady Flames opened their home schedule by going 4-0 at the Liberty Softball Classic, a stretch which included back-to-back comeback, eight-inning wins over Princeton and Marshall.

• Rachel Roupe was named ASUN Player of the Week for the second time in her career on Monday. She batted .636 (7-for-11) with two doubles, one homer and five RBI at the Liberty Softball Classic. Roupe hit a walk-off double to give Liberty its 5-4 win over Marshall, Sunday. Roupe reached base safely in 10 straight plate appearances, tying a program record held by Devyn Howard (2022), Lou Allan (2022) and Madison Kotchey (2015-16).
• Liberty's pitching combined for a 1.00 ERA and .181 opponents batting average at the Liberty Softball Classic. Karlie Keeney handled the bulk of the work, going 3-0 with a 0.71 ERA and one shutout, while Emily Estroff picked up her first win as a Lady Flame against Elon, Sunday.
• Keeney entered the week ranked fourth nationally with 55 2/3 innings pitched. She leads the Lady Flames in wins (3), ERA (2.77), strikeouts (31) and opponents batting average (.250). Keeney and Paige Bachman (1-3, 2.86 ERA) have both tossed a shutout this season.
• Devyn Howard brings a nine-game hitting streak into this week, batting 13-for-32 (.406) during that span. On Sunday against Elon, she led off the game with a home run, and Caroline Hudson immediately followed with a homer of her own. That was just the second time in program history that Liberty hit homers in each of its first two at bats (Autumn and Amber Bishop, April 3, 2021 vs. Kennesaw State).
• Rachel Craine leads the Lady Flames with a .346 batting average and .514 on base percentage, while Devyn Howard (.340) and Caroline Hudson are tied for the team lead with two homers each. Rachel Roupe bates .313, while Alexis Soto (.216) has totaled a team-leading seven RBI.
• Traditionally dominant at home, Liberty is 97-15 (.866) at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium since the start of the 2018 season.
