
Eagles Use 3-Run 7th Inning to Get by Flames 5-3

The Winthrop Eagles scored three runs in the seventh inning to slip past the Liberty Flames 5-3, Saturday afternoon at Winthrop Ballpark.
With Liberty up 3-2, the host Eagles took the lead on a two-out triple by Ricky Teel and then added an insurance run on a Liberty throwing error for the final score of 5-3.
Flames right fielder Camden Troyer had two hits in the game.
With the win, the Eagles even the three-game series at 1-1. Liberty drops to 2-4 on the year. Winthrop moves to 4-2.

After Hudson struck out Eagle left fielder CJ Conrad for the second out of the inning, right fielder Randy Teel ground a pitch just inside the third base bag and down into the left field corner, plating both runners to give Winthrop a 4-3 advantage.
Beyond the Box Score
- Troyer recorded his second multi-hit game of the season in the contest.
- For the second consecutive outing, Moran went five innings. He allowed his first earned run of the year in 10 innings of work and currently has an ERA of 0.90.
