LYNCHBURG, Va. – Talented Liberty Christian Academy center Emmy Stout will remain in town for her collegiate career, signing a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2024-25 academic year.
Stout will join high school teammate Avery Mills on the 2024-25 Lady Flames roster, as the LCA guard signed her national letter of intent on Wednesday.
"I have no doubt that Liberty and the Lady Flames program are gaining tremendous young ladies of high integrity and strong faith who will be great Champions for Christ during their time at LU and beyond," stated Liberty Christian Academy Girls' Basketball Head Coach Heather Stephens. "It has been an honor to work with these ladies the past two years and they will be greatly missed!"
Emmy Stout (C, 6-3, Lynchburg, Va.)
A senior at Liberty Christian Academy, Stout excelled during her first year at the school in 2022-23. She averaged 16.1 ppg, 7.0 rpg and 2.5 bpg while shooting 63 percent from the field for the 21-6 Bulldogs, who captured their first regional title. Stout earned second team all-state honors at season's end.
Stout spent her freshman and sophomore years at Maranatha Christian High School in San Diego. She averaged over 20 ppg and 10 rpg both years, reaching the 1,000-point milestone by the end of her sophomore campaign.
"Liberty has been my dream school since seventh grade," Stout noted. "Being able to go to a school that promotes Christ and one that has such incredible coaches, there is nothing better."
What They're Saying About Emmy Stout
"Emmy Stout is a high-character competitor who contributes to a team's success both on and off the court. She plays strong in the power forward position, while being a dominant rebounding and scoring threat inside. Her strengths are understanding the value and impact of running the floor and positioning as well as defending the basket inside. We are excited to welcome Emmy to our team."
Carey Green, Liberty Women's Basketball Head Coach
"Emmy and the Liberty women's basketball program are a perfect match for one another! The maturity, high basketball IQ and desire to constantly improve her game make Emmy a natural addition to the Lady Flames family. Emmy is a smart player who understands how to position herself to help her team score a basket or get a defensive stop. Outside of basketball, Emmy's faith and heart for serving others is what Liberty University is all about."
