LYNCHBURG, Va. – Avery Mills, a high-scoring guard at Liberty Christian Academy, will not have to go far to attend college, as she has signed a national letter of intent to attend Liberty University for the 2024-25 academic year.
Avery Mills (G, 5-9, Lynchburg, Va.)
Mills has already scored more than 2,000 varsity points as she enters her senior season at Liberty Christian Academy. She has averaged more than 22 ppg during both of her seasons with the Bulldogs, including 23.0 ppg a year ago. Mills helped LCA win its first-ever regional title, garnering first team all-state and Lynchburg News & Advance Player of the Year accolades.
Mills was also a first-team all-state performer as a sophomore at Liberty Christian Academy, dropping in 22.3 ppg. She began her high school career at Winston-Salem Christian in North Carolina, averaging 7.0 ppg for one of the nation's elite squads.
"When it came down to choosing a school to continue my next four years of basketball and education, Liberty University was a no-brainer," said Mills. "From the amazing coaching staff who invested their time into my life, to the unmatched culture and values of the team and university as a whole, no other school could compare and I'm so thankful and excited to be a Flame!"

"Avery Mills plays at the guard position with a high basketball IQ. We love that her motivation is to honor God with her best effort while impacting the game. She is a high-level determined competitor who displays great leadership. Avery has a great shooting touch and is capable of scoring at all levels of the court. She is a Liberty girl, a perfect fit for our program and will be a major contributor to our future success."

"Avery is a dynamic basketball player whose playmaking abilities start the moment she steps foot on the court! She's a confident scorer with a complete game making her a threat to manufacture points in a variety of ways, both for herself and her teammates.
