LYNCHBURG, Va. – Maleah Alexander, a defensive-minded guard from Kentucky, has signed to attend Liberty University for the 2024-25 academic year.
Maleah Alexander (G, 5-7, Burlington, Ky.)
A senior at Randall K. Cooper High School, Alexander has been a key part of a successful team which has won 71 games the past three seasons. The Jaguars have made back-to-back Kentucky Sweet 16 appearances, reaching the Final Four of the state tournament during Alexander's sophomore campaign.
Alexander has been voted Cooper's defensive MVP for the last three seasons, racking up 114 steals over that time span. She has also been efficient at the offensive end, shooting 79.2 percent from the foul line and 37.3 percent from three-point range as a junior after making over 50 percent of her field goals as both a freshman and sophomore.
Alexander earned the Team Hustle Award for her AAU squad, NKY Fusion, after leading the team in steals and offensive rebounds in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
"I couldn't be more excited to be a Flame next year," Alexander exclaimed. "It's surely been a long, rocky road to get here, but I'm so encouraged by the support of the coaching staff and my family and friends back at home. I truly believe that the Lord has led me to Liberty and it's where I need to be! I can't wait to see what the future holds!"
What They're Saying About Maleah Alexander
"Maleah Alexander will fan the flame in so many different ways from her guard position. We are excited to welcome her leadership and determination. She plays to honor God every day and on every play. Maleah is a tenacious defender and can score at all levels. She is a great teammate and a perfect fit for the Lady Flames who will impact our success, both on and off the court."
