
3 Flames Earn Inclusion on CSC Academic All-District Team

LYNCHBURG, VA. – Liberty forward Luke Eberle, defender Bryce Swinehart and goalkeeper Owen Moore are part of the 2023 College Sports Communicators Men's Soccer Academic All-District team.
To earn inclusion on the team, a student-athlete must be a sophomore academically, have competed in 90% of his team's games or started 66% and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average.
For the second consecutive year, Eberle has been named to the CSC Academic All-District team. The forward received his second all-conference honor this season, being named to the Ohio Valley All-Conference second team.
Eberle started all 18 matches for the Flames, scoring a team-leading seven goals and had four assists for a team-high 18 points. The midfielder's goals, assists and points totals were all career highs. He is the first Liberty player to score seven or more goals in a season since Kevin Mendoza and Tresor Mbuyu each scored 12 in 2018. He also had two game-winning goals.
The senior finished the year tied for second in goals and points in the OVC. The Annapolis, Md., native was also tied for seventh in the conference in assists.
A four-year member of the Flames' roster, Eberle holds a 3.89 grade point average in psychology. He was named to the ASUN Academic Honor Roll in each of the past three academic years.
Swinehart garnered his first all-conference selection this season as he was voted by the conference's coaches to the OVC All-Conference first team. The sophomore defender started all 18 Liberty games and played the most minutes of any Flame in 2023 (1,521). He scored a career-high five goals and was a key member of Liberty's defensive efforts in 2023.
The Charlotte, N.C., native tied for second on the Flames and eighth in the OVC in goals. He also had two winning goals and was selected the OVC Defensive Player of the Week for Sept. 19.
Swinehart holds a 3.76 grade point average in business administration. He was a member of the ASUN Academic Honor Roll for 2022-23.
Moore started 12 games in goal for Liberty in 2023. In 1,100 minutes, the sophomore goalkeeper posted a 6-3-3 record with a 1.06 goals-against average and a .667 save percentage. He was in goal for Liberty's only shutout of the season, a 4-0 victory at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 12, and recorded a career-high seven saves in a 2-1 win at Navy on Sept. 3.
The Pilesgrove, N.J. native holds a 3.65 grade point average in sport management. He was a member of the ASUN Academic Honor Roll last year.
