LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty is in third place at the 2023 TYR '85 Invite after the first full day of competition, Friday at Liberty Natatorium.
Air Force leads with 1,594 points, followed by Ohio (917), Liberty (871), Campbell (500), Saint Francis (Pa.) (270) and California (Pa.) (165).

- The Lady Flames won the final event of the evening session, claiming the 400 medley relay by nearly five seconds over second-place Ohio (3:36.90 to 3:41.75)
- Three Liberty divers earned qualification to the 2024 NCAA Zone Diving Championships, in Chloe LaCount (309.65), Mary Herndon (289.60) and Meagan Tuohy (285.10).
- Liberty placed nine athletes in A Finals today.
- Last night, in a long-course meters session, Heather Gardner earned a spot in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, to be held next June in Indianapolis, Ind. She swam 1:09.85 in the 100-meter breaststroke, meeting the qualifying standard of 1:10.29.
- Kamryn Cannings is the first Lady Flame since Sydney Stricklin at the 2023 CCSA Championships to break 23 seconds in the 50 freestyle.
- Grace Isaacs' 2:02.69 from finals tonight ranks 10th all-time on the program's Top 10 performers list.
- Chloe LaCount moved into third on Liberty's Top 10 list in three-meter diving (309.65), with Meagan Tuohy (285.10) in sixth and Shannon Icard (278.60), eighth.
