LYNCHBURG, Va. - Liberty freshman Kamryn Cannings broke the program's 200 freestyle record, highlighting day three of the 2023 TYR '85 Invite, Saturday at Liberty Natatorium.
Air Force leads team standings with 1,618 points, followed by Ohio (1,495), Liberty (1,415), Campbell (818), Saint Francis (Pa.) (614) and California (Pa.) (223).

Tomorrow's morning prelims start at 10 a.m. with the 200 backstroke. Finals will begin at 5 p.m.

- 800 freestyle relay – 1st in 7:20.58 (Kamryn Cannings – 1:45.67; Grace Shaw – 1:52.94; Kate Baker – 1:51.73; Shelby Kahn – 1:50.24)
- Kamryn Cannings led off the 800 free relay in a program-record 200 free time of 1:45.67. That is an NCAA B cut time and breaks Hannah Baker's previous program record of 1:46.55, set at the 2018 CCSA Championships.
- In total, the Lady Flames saw NCAA B standards met in the 200 free (Kamryn Cannings – 1:45.67), 100 back (Abbie Shaw – 52.77) and 100 fly (Kamryn Cannings – 52.51).
- The Lady Flames won both relays tonight and have claimed victory in three out of four relay races so far this week.
- For the second night in a row, three Liberty divers earned qualification to the 2024 NCAA Zone Diving Championships. Tonight, Mary Herndon, Maddie Freece and Meagan Tuohy all qualified on one-meter.
- So far this season, Liberty's NCAA Zone qualifiers include Maddie Freece (one-meter), Mary Herndon (one-meter, three-meter), Chloe LaCount (three-meter), Caroline Stamps (one-meter) and Meagan Tuohy (one-meter, three-meter)
- Liberty went 1-2-3-4 in the 100 backstroke, in order (Abbie Shaw, Sydney Stricklin, Sydney Houtz, Malia Francis). The Lady Flames went 1-2-4-5-7 in one-meter diving (Mary Herndon, Maddie Freece, Meagan Tuohy, Grace Gooding, Chloe LaCount).
- In addition to her 200 freestyle record, Kamryn Cannings now ranks second in program history in the 100 fly with her 52.51 from tonight.
- Abbie Shaw now ranks second all-time at Liberty in 100 backstroke at 52.77. Sydney Stricklin (54.26) is sixth and Malia Francis (54.95) is tied for 10th.
- Mary Herndon moved into fourth place on Liberty's all-time list in one-meter diving with her 279.10 tonight. Chloe LaCount is now ninth after scoring 256.55 in prelims.
- Liberty's 200 medley relay of 1:39.82 ranks eighth on the program's all-time top performers list in the event.
- The Lady Flames' 800 free relay time of 7:20.58 is seventh all-time in program history.
