
Liberty Run-Rules Rutgers for 2nd Straight Game, 9-1

Liberty posted its second straight run-rule win over Rutgers, downing the Scarlet Knights 9-1 in five innings on Friday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames (11-6) boosted their winning streak to five games, including 2-0 at the Liberty Softball Invitational. Rutgers falls to 11-6 on the season following two losses to the Lady Flames. Liberty outscored Rutgers 21-1 over that last two games.

- Liberty is 7-1 all-time against Rutgers in softball, winning each of the last seven meetings in the series.
- This was the third straight game in which Liberty scored in the first inning. Liberty is 7-0 this season when scoring in the first inning and 10-0 when scoring first.
- The Lady Flames are 8-4 against Big Ten teams under current head coach Dot Richardson, including 4-2 this season. Liberty plays Illinois twice next weekend at Clemson.
- Allan is the first Lady Flame to draw four walks in a game since Amber Bishop-Riley drew four walks at Troy on Feb. 17, 2021.
