Liberty completed a three-game sweep of the visiting North Alabama Lions, downing UNA 6-3 on Sunday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
Liberty extends its winning streak to seven games overall, improving to 21-12 overall and an ASUN-best 6-0 in conference play. UNA falls to 22-10, 1-5 in ASUN play.

Notable Numbers
- UNA held a 10-7 advantage in hits, while Liberty committed a season-high three errors. North Alabama left 11 runners on base, while Liberty stranded four.
- Karlie Keeney (11-6) picked up her third win of the week, tossing four innings of relief during which she allowed one unearned run on four hits, walking one and fanning two. Starter McKenzie Wagoner yielded two runs (one earned) on six hits, walking two and striking out one in three innings.
- Sophie Golliver (6-2) drew the loss, allowing six runs on five hits, walking two and striking out one in 1 1/3 innings pitched. Reliever Elena Escobar gave up two hits in 4 2/3 innings of scoreless softball.
- Caroline Hudson batted 2-for-3 with her team-leading seventh home run, three RBI and one run scored. Devyn Howard went 1-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored, while Raigan Barrett had a two-run double and Alexis Soto recorded a double.
- Hailey Jones went 3-for-4 with a run scored, while teammates Emma Broadfoot and Maleah Hargett both batted 2-for-3. Harley Stokes hit her fifth homer of the season.
Turning Point
- For the second game in a row, Liberty jumped out to a big lead. The Lady Flames used a two-run first and four-run second to build the lead at 6-1.
- North Alabama narrowed the gap to 6-2 on Stokes’ home run in the fourth. Keeney entered in relief of Wagoner, and allowed just one run (unearned in the seventh) over the rest of the way as Liberty prevailed 6-3.
Beyond the Box Score
- Liberty is now 7-2 all-time against UNA in softball, outscoring the Lions 37-9 in those nine games while winning the last six games in a row in the series.
- The Lady Flames hold a 38-7 overall record in ASUN regular-season games since joining the conference in 2019. Liberty has posted 11 three-game ASUN series sweeps during that span.
- Liberty has won each of its last 19 regular-season ASUN games, a streak which started April 3, 2021 against Kennesaw State. That is tied with James Madison for the second longest active conference regular-season winning streak I NCAA Division I softball.
- Keeney went 3-0 this week with a 0.00 ERA, earning relief wins over Virginia and North Alabama and pitching a five-hit shutout yesterday.
- With 33 career wins, Keeney needs one more victory to enter Liberty’s all-time top in in career wins.
- Liberty has scored 40 first-inning runs this year, including 16 first-inning runs during ASUN play.
- Liberty is 14-0 this season when scoring in the first inning and 18-0 when scoring first.
Up Next
The Lady Flames will head to Louisville, Ky., for their next four games, starting with a 6 p.m. game on Wednesday at Louisville. Liberty will then play at Bellarmine for an ASUN series on Friday and Saturday.
