
Lady Flames Shut Out Lions 6-0 in Game 2

Liberty sophomore Karlie Keeney tossed a complete-game five-hit shutout and Liberty scored all the runs it needed in the first inning of a 6-0 victory over North Alabama, Saturday at Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium.
The Lady Flames improve to 20-12, including 5-0 in ASUN play with their sixth consecutive win overall. The Lions fall to 22-9, 1-4 in ASUN games.

Notable Numbers
- For the second game in a row, Liberty outhit UNA 6-5. The Lions left seven runners on base, while the Lady Flames stranded three. UNA left two runners on base to end the first, third and sixth innings.
- Keeney (10-6) tossed her third shutout of the season and eighth of her career. She struck out seven and walked three. The sophomore fanned three batters in the first inning.
- UNA’s Sidney Revels (5-3) drew the loss, allowing six runs on four hits, walking three in 2/3 of an inning pitched. Megan Warhurst (4 1/3 innings pitched) and Elena Escobar (one inning pitched) allowed one hit each in relief.
- Six different Lady Flames had one hit each, with Rachel Roupe hitting her second grand slam of the season and driving in four. Kara Canetto drove in two runs, while Lou Allan doubled and scored.
Turning Point
- Liberty struck quickly in the home half of the first. With one out, Allan doubled and Griffin walked to load the bases. Canetto made it 2-0 with a two-run single. A walk to Mary Claire Wilson filled the bases again before Roupe cleared them with a grand slam for a 6-0 lead.

- Liberty is now 6-2 all-time against UNA in softball, outscoring the Lions 31-6.
- The Lady Flames hold a 37-7 overall record in ASUN regular-season games since joining the conference in 2019.
