
Liberty Baseball Unveils 2023 Schedule

2023 Liberty Baseball Schedule
The Liberty Flames baseball team has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2023 season.
Liberty will open the 2023 season in Hattiesburg, Miss., with a three-game series against 2022 NCAA Super Regional participant Southern Miss., Feb. 17-19. The series is part of a seven-game road trip to open the season for the Flames. Liberty will also travel to Duke on Feb. 24 and play a three-game series at Winthrop, Feb. 24-26, as part of the road swing.
The Flames will open their 2023 home schedule with a five-game homestand. Head Coach Scott Jackson’s team will host Longwood for its home opener on Mar. 1 at 4 p.m. The Flames will then welcome Bryant for a three-game homestand, March 3-5, and a single game against VCU on March 7.
2022 NCAA Regional Teams Fill the Schedule
Coming off a season in which Liberty participated in an NCAA Regional for the third consecutive season for the first time in program history, the Flames’ 2023 schedule will feature 16 games against 2022 NCAA Regional teams. Liberty is slated to face NCAA Super Regional squads Southern Miss, East Carolina and Virginia Tech, along with NCAA Regional teams Kennesaw State, Wake Forest, Virginia and VCU. Four of those contests are scheduled for Worthington Stadium at Liberty Baseball Stadium.Home Sweet HomeConsidered one of the premiere facilities in college baseball, Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium is scheduled to host 25 games in 2023. Along with five home ASUN Conference series, the Flames will welcome Bryant for a three-game non-conference series, along with Duke, Longwood, VCU, Wake Forest, Virginia, Old Dominion and Virginia Tech for single midweek games.
Midweek Home and HomesLiberty is again scheduled for midweek home-and-home series during the season with Duke, Old Dominion, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest during 2023. The Flames will also host Commonwealth opponents Longwood and VCU in single contests during the midweek.
ASUN ScheduleThis season, the ASUN will consist of 13 teams, with the addition of Austin Peay this fall. Each team in the conference will play 10 three-game series, five home and five away. Liberty opens its 2023 ASUN schedule at FGCU, March 17-19, and will host Austin Peay in their first home ASUN series the following weekend, March 24-26.
The Flames will host Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, North Florida, Jacksonville State and Bellarmine in conference play. Liberty will travel for ASUN series at FGCU, Lipscomb, 2022 ASUN Champion Kennesaw State, Stetson and Eastern Kentucky.
Eight teams will move on to the 2023 ASUN Baseball Championship at Stetson’s Melching Field at Conrad Stadium in DeLand, Fla., May 23-27.
