The Liberty Lady Flames outlasted the Jacksonville Dolphins 2-1, winning their seventh straight contest of the season, Thursday evening at Southern Oak Stadium.
The Lady Flames jumped out to a 2-0 lead and then used a gritty defensive effort to come away with the road victory.
Halle Engle and Rachel DeRuby each scored a goal for the Lady Flames in the contest.
Liberty moves to 11-3-2 overall and leads the ASUN Conference with a 7-0-1 mark in league play. Jacksonville drops to 4-4-4 overall and 1-4-2 in ASUN play.

Turning Point
With the Lady Flames leading 2-1, goalkeeper Ainsley Leja came up with a big save to keep Liberty’s advantage during the 74th minute. Jacksonville forward Shelma Fohrer took a pass at the top of the box and stepped around a defender, firing a low shot. Leja, who was screened, dove to her right and deflected the shot away from her net to hold the Lady Flames’ edge.
