Liberty wrapped up a season-opening 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 25-15) win at Robert Morris, Friday at UPMC Events Center.
The Lady Flames (1-0) had their original season opener cancelled last Friday due to CoVID-19 concerns in ECU’s program. This morning’s match was the first contest of the 2021 RMU/Chick-fil-A Robinson Labor Day Volleyball Classic.
Robert Morris (3-1) sustained its first loss of the season after going 3-0 on opening weekend.
Head Coach Trevor Johnson
“I’m proud of our defensive intensity this morning. I thought we did a nice job of digging a lot of balls high and off to give Amaya a chance to set and run our offense. We served tough as well all match. They were out of system for most of the match which allowed our block defense to get set up. Raj had a great game with 18 kills and hit .300! She’s been working really hard all week! Good win! We got a little better this morning, which was the goal.”
