
Liberty Falls to Duke in Season Opener 3-0

The Duke Blue Devils defeated the Liberty Flames 3-0, Friday night at Koskinen Stadium.
In the season-opening contest for both teams, the host Blue Devils struck for an early first half goal and kept the Flames offensive attack in check for most of the match en route to the victory.
Liberty drops to 0-1. Duke moves to 1-0.

Leading 1-0 early in the second, Duke scored on the counterattack to push its advantage to 2-0. Coming out of halftime, the Flames were able to organize their attack to put pressure on the Blue Devil defense. Gaining possession in the midfield, Luke Thomas was able to find forward Miguel Ramirez on the left wing for a shot which found the high right corner for a 2-0 lead.
