Liberty women’s soccer wrapped up its first week of the season on the road against Tennessee Tech on Sunday. For the second straight game, Liberty had to battle from behind as the Golden Eagles’ goal in the first half proved to be the difference maker as the Lady Flames dropped the 1-0 contest at TTU.

Both teams struggled to get shots on goal in the first half, as the two teams combined to attempt three shots in the first 45 minutes of action. Maddy Oliver came close to scoring Liberty’s first goal of the season in the 12th minute of the game, but Oliver’s attempt would hit the crossbar. Tennessee Tech managed only one shot in the first half, but it proved to be the difference maker as Zhou Giada’s shot gave TTU the 1-0 lead at half. Liberty tried its best to tie the game, outshooting Tennessee Tech 10-2 in the second half but were unable to convert.
