
Flames Finish Tied Atop Leaderboard at Timuquana Collegiate

A back-and-forth battle between Liberty and No. 15 Florida ended in a playoff, Tuesday afternoon, to wrap up play at the Timuquana Collegiate.
The Flames (287-273-283) and Gators (278-281-284) finished tied atop the leaderboard following three rounds of play at the Timuquana Country Club (par 73, 6,949 yards). Both teams concluded the event with a 21-under par 843 final score.
The two teams needed two additional holes to determine the team title, where Florida was able to edge the Flames on the second playoff hole.
Liberty's Kieran Vincent led the Flames in their first event in 10 months, finishing tied for fourth place with an 8-under par 208 (72-67-69).

Field Reflections:
• All but one of the 11 teams in the tournament field finished the event in red figures.
• Day 1 clubhouse leader Virginia faltered on Tuesday, carding a 4-over par 292 to finish one stroke behind Liberty and Florida with a 20-under par 844 (275-277-292).
• No. 23 Oklahoma State (287-281-279) and ASUN foe North Florida (281-287-279) both closed with a 9-under par 279 to finish tied for fourth place with a 17-under par 847.
• Jacksonville, who co-hosted the tournament with fellow ASUN Conference member North Florida, finished tied for ninth place with a 2-under par 862 (291-278-293).
• A total of 28 players finished the tournament in red figures, led by Florida State's Vincent Norman, who claimed medalist honors with a 13-under par 203 (68-66-69).
Birdies and Bogeys – Liberty Team Notes:
• Kieran Vincent's score of 208 tied for the second lowest 54-hole of his career and was his best tournament score since April 2017 (Big South Men's Golf Championship).
• Vincent's fourth-place showing marks this sixth career top-five finish in a college golf tournament.
• Vincent led the tournament field in par-4 scoring (-4; 3.67 average) and ranked fourth with 14 birdies.
• Isaac Simmons and Jonathan Yaun both posted under-par scores during the final round to better their overall position on the leaderboard.
• Simmons finished tied for 12th place with a 4-under par 212 (73-70-69), while Yaun was one stroke behind at 3-under par 213 (74-69-70) to finish tied for 19th place.
• Alexandre Fuchs, who led the Flames during play on Monday, posted his 10th career top-10 showing, finishing tied for eighth place with a 6-under par 210 (68-67-75).
