Anna Hostetler picked up her first victory as a Liberty Flame, winning the women's mile Saturday at the Doc Hale Virginia Tech Elite Meet inside Rector Field House.
Competing in just her third race as a Lady Flame after transferring from Iowa, Hostetler broke the tape with a mile time of 4:55.25 which ranks No. 9 in program history.
Fellow sophomore Emma Bower shaved five seconds off her mile personal best to take third place in 5:05.87.
Two other sophomores recorded impressive indoor personal bests during the meet's final day, including Abby Thorpe in the women's high jump (5-7) and Jamie Gray in the women's shot put (40-5).
