
Field Hockey Travels to No. 8 Wake Forest, Sunday

The No. 13 Liberty Lady Flames field hockey squad will make the trek down to Winston-Salem, N.C., taking on a familiar opponent in No. 8 Wake Forest. The matchup is set to begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

About Liberty
The Lady Flames are 5-1 heading into the weekend, having most recently split a weekend road series with Ohio and then No. 11 Louisville. Liberty bested Ohio, 7-1, on Friday before falling to the Cardinals on Sunday, 2-1.

• Abby Julius will square off against older sister Madi Julius, a senior forward for Wake Forest. Abby has tallied one goal and two assists in her freshman season, while Madi has notched two goals and dished out one assist thus far in her senior year.
Lady Flames against the Demon Deacons
Liberty will square off against Wake Forest for the fourth time in program history on Sunday. The Lady Flames picked up the program's first-ever victory over the Demon Deacons almost a year ago today on Sept. 19, 2014 when Liberty bested then No. 12 Wake Forest at home, 2-1.
Scouting Wake Forest: The Demon Deacons have won five consecutive contests since dropping their season opener to Iowa, 2-1. During the stretch, Wake Forest has beaten then No. 4 Duke, 2-1, in Durham, N.C., as well as besting Richmond by a score of 6-1 in the Demon Deacons' most recent outing. No. 8 Wake Forest has a chance to improve to 6-1 this afternoon, taking on No. 15 Old Dominion at 6 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C. Jess Newak and Jule Grashoff have each recorded four goals, leading the way offensively for Wake Forest.
Looking Ahead
Following this weekend's contest, Liberty will return to action next weekend with a 6 p.m. matchup against Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va., on Sept. 25. The Lady Flames will then return home to face Boston College at 1 p.m. on Sept. 27. Both Old Dominion and Boston College are currently stationed inside the NFHCA Top 20 with the Monarchs ranked No. 15 and the Eagles positioned at No. 11.
