Rininger Named Co-Big South Player of the Week

After helping Liberty get off to a fast start to the 2015-16 season, redshirt senior post player Ashley Rininger has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Co-Player of the Week.
Rininger, who is now a five-time Big South Player of the Week for her career, shared the honor with Gardner-Webb's Candace Brown.
Rininger was instrumental in Liberty's 74-68 season-opening win at Appalachian State on Friday, leading all players in points (23) and rebounds (11) for her 34th career double-double. The Big South Preseason Player of the Year helped the Lady Flames hold off the Mountaineers with 10 points and five rebounds during the fourth quarter.
Now 2-0 on the season, Liberty will host NC State (2-0) Friday at 7 p.m. The Lady Flames will seek their first win over an ACC opponent since Dec. 30, 2008 during the Wolfpack's first-ever visit to the Vines Center.
