
Liberty Held Scoreless Against UC Davis

In its second neutral site game of the season, the Liberty women's lacrosse team took on UC Davis at DeGol Field on the campus of St. Francis (Pa.) on Monday. Unfortunately for the Lady Flames, they were unable to find the net on the afternoon, falling to the Aggies, 21-0.
In the first period, UC Davis scored 13 goals on 23 shot attempts. Gina Hoffman paced the Aggies with three goals, followed by Britt Farquharson and Elizabeth Datino with two apiece.
Liberty matched UC Davis in the first period in ground balls with 11. The Lady Flames reached the offensive third twice on three attempts, while UC Davis went 2-for-2 on team clears in the opening period.
In the second stanza, the Aggies netted eight goals on nine shots for a final score of 21-0. UC Davis picked up 14 ground balls in the period, while Liberty managed to record five.
Ann Geissbuhler recorded three goals in the latter period, finishing with four on the afternoon to pacethe Aggies' offense. Molly Lapolla and Farquharson led UC Davis in helpers with three each.
Liberty goalie Rebekah Luetters posted six saves in the contest and led the Lady Flames once again in ground balls with six. Chloe McIntosh was the team's leader in forced miscues, finishing with two caused turnovers.
The Lady Flames will have a quick turnaround before heading back to Lynchburg, as they square off with host St. Francis on Wednesday afternoon. The first draw is slated for 4 p.m.
