Introducing Dymond Morgan

Seven seniors graduated from the 2008-09 Liberty women's basketball team, which went 24-9 and captured the program's 12th Big South title in 13 seasons. As a result, Lady Flames fans will see a lot of new faces on the court this year, including junior guard Dymond Morgan. LibertyFlames.com will provide a brief introduction of the Lady Flames' newcomers, leading up to tonight's season opener versus Winston-Salem State.
Dymond Morgan, a 5-7 junior point guard, joins the Lady Flames after spending two seasons at Midland College. The Lady Chaps went 61-8 during her time on the roster, and the Lynwood, Calif., native was named the team's best defensive player both years.
Morgan also enjoyed a successful prep career at Lynwood High School. She was tabbed the team's top defensive player four consecutive years, as her squad won four straight San Gabriel Valley League titles.
2009-10 Outlook: In 2008-09, Liberty ranked No. 2 nationally in scoring defense and No. 6 in field goal percentage defense. Morgan, who has been recognized as her team's top defender for six straight seasons, should help the Lady Flames continue their tradition of strong defense. She will also add depth and experience to the backcourt.
From the Head Coach: "Dymond is a defensive specialist, who brings additional experience to the point guard position. We are excited to have her join our team from a very successful program at Midland College. She will be a huge attribute and asset to our depth at the point guard position."
