Lady Flames Drop 4-0 Decision At James Madison

The James Madison Dukes downed the Liberty Lady Flames, 4-0, Wednesday night at the JMU Soccer Complex.
James Madison took a 1-0 lead into halftime. At the 33:00 mark of the first period, Kimmy Germain connected on a header off a cross from Natalie Ewell for the advantage.
In the second half, the Dukes added to their lead in the game's 50th minute. Kim Argy dribbled through the box and scored from four yards out for her first goal of the evening.
Ten minutes later, Argy netted her second tally of the evening off a pass from Ewell, extending James Madison's advantage.
Later in the match's 63rd minute, the Dukes' Karly Skladany scored on a header off a Germain corner kick for the final score of the contest.
Liberty had four shots on the evening, but nearly scored in the 28th minute of action when a Rachel Bendzlowicz (Sr., MF, Holland, Pa.) shot took a high bounce close to the goal which JMU goalkeeper Jessica Hussey leaped up and punched over the crossbar. Another Lady Flames' shot by Hannah Sullivan (So., F, Minden, Nev.) from just outside the box in the 75th minute went just wide.
On the night, Lady Flames' goalkeeper Sonia Rodriguez (Sr., Fairfax, Va.) made nine saves. It is the fifth time this season in which Rodriguez has made seven or more saves in a game. The Dukes' starting keeper Hussey made 2 saves in 68 minutes, while neither teammate Amanda Hutchings or Sarah Hopkins made a save in their time in the James Madison net.
"Obviously, I'm disappointed with our loss, but I more disappointed that we couldn't compete tonight," stated Liberty coach James Price.
With the setback, the Lady Flames fall to 2-3-2 on the season, while James Madison moves to 5-3.
Liberty next returns action on Monday as the Lady Flames host the Longwood Lancers. Game time is set for 7 p.m
