Donna Hodgert stepped into her role as Associate Director of Aquatics in June 2018.

In her current role, Hodgert oversees the day-to-day operations of the Liberty Natatorium, including scheduling, supervision and training of aquatics staff, regular maintenance of the pool equipment and ensuring the overall safety of the athletes and visitors who use the facility.

Prior to coming to Liberty, she served as interim AD at Sweet Brier College for one year and as the Head Swim Coach for four years. Additionally, she coached swimming at Randolph College (formerly Randolph Macon Women's College) for ten seasons. While there, she earned Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Coach of the Year honors in 2008.

Hodgert is also a former teacher who has worked in Bedford County Public Schools and most recently was the athletics director and middle school physical education teacher at James River Day School in Lynchburg.

Hodgert graduated from Sweet Brier College with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and international studies. While there, she was a four-year varsity swimmer for the Vixens and a member of an NCAA All-American relay team. Hodgert is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport management at Liberty.

Hodgert currently resides in Lynchburg. She has two adult sons. Her youngest son, Harry, is a junior and member of the golf team at the University of Lynchburg.
