Dan Maxam was promoted to his current role of Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Facilities in summer of 2025.
Maxam originally joined the Liberty Athletics Department in 2006 as a student worker. Two years later, he was promoted to Director of Facilities, where he oversaw day-to-day operations for Liberty Athletics venues. In 2012, he advanced to the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, expanding his leadership role before assuming his current responsibilities as Assistant AD for Events and Facilities.
In his current position, Maxam serves as the primary facilities and event manager for Liberty Arena, overseeing all facility needs and game operations for Liberty men’s basketball, women’s basketball and volleyball. He also manages the Liberty golf facility and tournaments.
Additionally, Maxam oversees the submission process for all badge and key requests for Liberty Athletics staff.
A graduate of Liberty, Maxam earned his bachelor’s degree in business finance in 2010. He is an active member of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA).
Dan and his wife, Morgan, reside in Lynchburg, Va. with their two children, Azlyn and Maveryk.
