Amanda Merrell assumed her role as Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2021. In her current position, Merrell is responsible for injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for the Liberty women’s lacrosse and women’s tennis programs.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Merrell served as a Staff Athletic Trainer at Cedarville, working with women’s volleyball in the spring of 2021. As an undergraduate athletic training student at Cedarville, she completed clinical rotations with the baseball, track & field, cross country, volleyball and softball programs along with high school football.
Merrell graduated with honors and a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Cedarville in Dec. 2020. She also obtained a minor degree in Biblical studies. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in exercise science with concentration in fitness and performance at Liberty. Merrell expects to graduate in May 2023 with the master’s degree.
Merrell currently resides in Lynchburg.
