2011 (R-So.): Arguably Liberty's biggest breakthrough performer of the 2011 indoor season … crowning achievement came in the IC4A 500 final, when he became Liberty's first-ever IC4A 500-meter run champion … his winning time of 1:01.96 broke the school record and ranked as America's No. 3 time for 2011 … just one week earlier, he came from behind to win Liberty's first Big South indoor 400-meter dash title since 2003, with an indoor personal-best 48.62 clocking … also anchored Liberty's 4 x 400 relay team to third place at the Big South meet … posted a trio of top-three finishes at the Big South outdoor meet, coming in second in the 400 hurdles and third in both the 400 and 4 x 400 relay … ran the 400 at the IC4A outdoor meet and competed in the 400 hurdles at the NCAA East Preliminary Round meet … his personal-best 400 hurdles time of 52.67 at the Shamrock Invitational moved him up to No. 6 in program history … made the Big South Presidential Honor Roll.

2010 (R-Fr.): Placed sixth in the 400 and ninth in the 60 hurdles at the Big South indoor meet … ran on the 4 x 400 relay team at the IC4A indoor championship … clocked a then personal-best 400 hurdles time of 52.85 to come in third at the Big South outdoor meet and qualify for the IC4A championship.

2009 (Fr.): Attended Liberty but did not run track.

Prep: Attended Manheim Central High School … 300-meter hurdles district runner-up and state 11th-place finisher as a senior … two-time league champion in the 300 hurdles … named team MVP as a junior, after scoring more than 150 points for his team.

Personal: Son of Steven and Joyce Courtney … communications major … birthday is on March 22.
