On the heels of an outstanding pole vaulting career, Taylen Rey has joined her alma mater’s staff in 2023-24 as an assistant coach. She will primarily work with the team’s pole vaulters.
Known as Taylen Langin during her collegiate career at Liberty, she claimed four ASUN women’s pole vault titles (three outdoor, one indoor) and made four NCAA Division I East Preliminary Round appearances.
Rey vaulted a personal-best 13-9.25 at the 2023 Bryan Clay Invitational, setting an ASUN Conference all-time record and ranking No. 2 in program history.
Also a standout in the classroom, Rey became the first Lady Flame ever to make the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team four times. She was also a six-time ASUN All-Academic Team honoree.
A native of Meridian, Idaho, Rey graduated from Liberty with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2022. She is currently working toward a master’s degree in human performance.
Rey and her husband, Samuel, were married in 2023.
