Dana Wheeler is entering her third year as a volunteer assistant coach with the Lady Flames.
Wheeler, a graduate student, serves the coaching staff as a student assistant coach, and concentrates solely on pitchers.
While serving as primary pitching coach for the last two seasons, Wheeler has helped guide 2010 Big South Pitcher of the Year and 2011 Big South Tournament MVP, Tiffany Smith, along with two-time Big South All-Conference pitcher Katrina Johnson.
During her two competitive years as a Lady Flame, Wheeler performed well in the circle, before suffering a career-ending injury in 2008. She is currently sixth in Liberty history with a career ERA of 2.33.
Wheeler graduated from Liberty in May 2010 with a degree in psychology, and is now pursuing her master's degree in counseling at Liberty.
