Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
For me personally it felt like home on my visit, somewhere where the coaches care about the game and want to win, but also pay attention to the young men and how they can help them grow on and off the pitch.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
For pregame I listen to calming music, because there's a lot of nerves and also excitement, so I like to calm my body and mind down. I also try to imagine myself doing good things on the pitch. For postgame I like to watch cartoons, Kung fu Panda is my favorite. Â
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My family is my biggest inspiration, I think of where I'm from and what we've gone through. They push me to be a better version of myself every day, my older brother helps me a lot in terms of reminding me how important it is to self-reflect, my mother helps me a lot on terms of perseverance, my Dad helps me a lot in terms of accountability and responsibility, and my little brother teaches me one of the most important lessons, patience.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
I think it would be when I made my professional debut In mls next pro and scored, that was a very proud moment for me and my family.
If you picked your jersey/uniform number, why is that number important to you?
I chose the number 10 because growing up as a kid I've always idolize Messi. The way he plays the game and how he takes care of his family is something I strive to do
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
My older brother Varney ran track and played soccer at a D3 school in Minnesota.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
