Student-Athlete Q&A
What made Liberty University the right place for you to attend college/compete at the collegiate level?
Great opportunity to develop myself on the field, the Christian environment also contributed for the decision. The ability to graduate, play soccer and be in an environment that seeks a relationship with God.
Is there anything special you do pregame or postgame and why?
Pregame, I usually drink mate which is a kind of tea really famous in Argentina, Uruguay and the South of Brazil (where I am from). Postgame, I always call my family to chat and tell them how was the game, because most of the times they can't watch it.
Who in your life inspires you and why are they such an inspiration?
My parents inspire me to be the best version of myself. They are my inspiration because I realize everything they did for me, and provided me with a good education, access to soccer, and unconditional support from them in everything.
What is your most memorable athletic moment/accomplishment?
Winning the first Region Championship for Patrick & Henry Community College. That is the most memorable, because I know all the effort they made to provide me with a good opportunity to be a student-athlete, and I think that by achieving that I was able to return at least a little bit of all they did for me.
Do you have any relatives who are playing or have played college or professional sports? (Names, relation to you, what/where they played)?
No, I don't. My father was a great soccer player, but he didn't play professionally. He was always my inspiration on the field, and hands down he is my fan number one. Back in Brazil he would travel everywhere to watch me play, I never heard a single negative thing from him. All these things motivate to be the best version of myself on and off the field.
Favorite meal (breakfast/lunch/dinner) and what is that special meal?
My favorite meal is lunch. Special meal would be a Brazilian barbecue with rice and potato salad made by my mom. I could eat that every day.
What is the first app you check on your phone each day?
WhatsApp.
What is your favorite hobby outside of athletics?
I love to play different sports other than soccer. But I love to listen to music and to drink mate.
Do you have any current pets (name and type of animal)?
It has been a while since the last time I went home, but I have a dog called Negao.
Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
Neymar.
What is your favorite possession and why?
Soccer Jerseys, just because they make me remember good moments back in Brazil.
What is your Go-To karaoke song?
Any Brazilian samba/pagode songs.
What is your dream vacation spot and why?
I don't have a specific spot, but it would be somewhere near the beach, with warm weather, and to make it perfect I would need my family or friends with me.
