2026 Liberty Men's Soccer Schedule
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty men's soccer team has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, its first under head coach Scott Wells and its first as a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon).
The Flames' schedule includes seven 2026 NCAA Tournament participants, including three national seeds. Liberty will face last year's national No. 2 seed Virginia, No. 9 seed San Diego and No. 16 seed Furman during the regular season, along with tournament participants Seton Hall and UNCG. The Flames will also meet NCAA Tournament participants Elon and North Carolina in exhibitions.
Liberty will begin preparations for the 2026 season with three exhibition matches. The Flames will travel to Chapel Hill, N.C., to face North Carolina on Aug. 8, before hosting Radford at Osborne Stadium on Aug. 12. Wells' squad will finish its preparations for the season with an exhibition at Elon on Aug. 15.
Liberty will open its first season under Wells with two games in California. The Flames will face San Diego State to begin the regular season on Aug. 20 and square off with San Diego on Aug. 23.
Liberty will begin its home schedule on Aug. 28 by hosting FGCU. Game time at Osborne Stadium is scheduled for 6 p.m.
After three years in the Ohio Valley Conference, the Flames move to the Southern Conference for 2026. The seven-team conference will play six league games, with Liberty playing its first SoCon game at 2025 NCAA Tournament participant UNCG on Sept. 19.
The Flames will host 2025 SoCon Champion Furman, Mercer and VMI at Osborne Stadium in conference play. In addition to UNCG, Liberty will travel to ETSU and Wofford for conference games.
The SoCon Men's Soccer Championship will run from Nov. 3 through Nov. 13 or 14 at campus sites. The tournament will get underway with the first round on Nov. 3, followed by the quarterfinals on Nov. 5. The semifinals will be held on Nov. 8 and the championship on Nov. 13 or 14.
Liberty will also host Oral Roberts at Osborne Stadium to round out its home schedule. In addition, the Flames will face Georgia Southern, American, Virginia, James Madison and Seton Hall on the road.
