Flames baseball is back at home tonight. Liberty takes on Virginia Tech at 6 p.m. from Worthington Field at Liberty Baseball Stadium in Lynchburg. The Flames are looking to sweep the season series from the Hokies. Liberty got a 13-4 win at Tech last week. You can hear tonight's game on the Liberty Flames mobile app and www.LibertyFlames.com. Airtime is 5:30 Eastern.
And nine Liberty softball players earned All-CUSA honors. Tuesday, the conference announced postseason awards. Liberty's Rachel Roupe is the Player of the Year. Flames senior Elena Escobar is the Pitcher of the Year. Liberty shortstop Savanah Watley is the Newcomer of the Year and Lady Flames Head Coach Dot Richardson is the Coach of the Year.
Liberty is the No. 1 seed in the Conference USA Championship this week, hosted by Western Kentucky. The Lady Flames are the defending tournament champs and will play either New Mexico State or Louisiana Tech on Thursday at 3:30 Eastern.
