
Lady Flames Lead Campbell, UNC Asheville After Day 1

Liberty leads both UNC Asheville and Campbell after day one at the TYR Senior Celebration Meet, Friday at Liberty Natatorium.
The Lady Flames hold a 101-85 lead over UNC Asheville, while leading Campbell 153-30. UNC Asheville leads the Camels by a score of 151-32.

• 400 medley relay – 3:46.06 (Abbie Shaw (56.49), Jessica Schellenboom (1:02.96), Kate Baker (56.28), Sydney Stricklin (50.33))
• Sr. Emma Hazel – 500 freestyle (5:03.94)
• Jr. Jessica Schellenboom – 100 breaststroke (1:03.33);

Notable
• Liberty won five events, while UNC Asheville claimed five individual events tonight, including the last four events in a row.
• Liberty went 1-2-3-4-5 in three-meter diving, led by a season-best 271.05 from senior Lauren Chennault. Freshman Grace Gooding turned in her best score as a Lady Flame for second, 247.35.
• The Lady Flames posted a 1-2-3 showing in the 400 IM, as Grace Isaacs won in 4:22.84 and Genna Joyce (4:29.21) and Chloe Harris (4:29.71) followed in second and third, respectively.
• UNC Asheville’s Delaney Carlton was the only swimmer tonight to win two events, claiming both the 50 freestyle (22.94) and 200 freestyle (1:51.94).
• Emma Hazel came from behind in the 500 freestyle, winning out of lane one. Hazel edged UNC Asheville’s Caitlin Hefner, 5:03.4 to 5:04.24.
• Hazel (500 free) and Grace Isaacs (400 IM) both picked up their third win of the season in their respective events.
• Liberty turned in its best performances of the season in the following events tonight: 400 medley relay (3:46.06), 400 IM (Grace Isaacs, 4:22.84), 100 breaststroke (Jessica Schellenboom, 1:03.33)
Historically Speaking
• Tonight’s 400 medley relay of 3:46.06 now ranks 10th on Liberty’s top 10 all-time performers list in the event.
• Gooding’s three-meter diving score of 247.35 is fifth all-time in program history in the event.
• Isaacs is ranked seventh in program history in the 400 IM after tonight’s 4:22.84 effort.

This weekend’s meet will conclude tomorrow, with the teams starting competition with the 200 medley relay at 11 a.m. The Lady Flames will honor 10 seniors with a ceremony prior to tomorrow’s session.
