- Liberty and VMI's contest on Tuesday will be the 26th all-time meeting between the two teams. The Flames and Keydets have squared off each of the last 15 seasons. Liberty holds a 21-2-2 record all-time vs. VMI. Each team is team is a former member of the Big South Conference.
- The Flames will be taking to the road for the first time in 2018 on Tuesday. Liberty will play eight games away from Osborne Stadium this season.
- Liberty is in its first season as a member of the ASUN Conference. The Flames will play their first ASUN contest on Sept. 13 at Stetson.
- On Friday night, Liberty drew over 1,000 fans (1,056) to Osborne Stadium for the first time since Sept. 2, 2016. That evening, 1,218 fans were in attendance for a match against William & Mary.
- Liberty has won its last six season openers. The Flames opened their season with a 2-1 win in overtime over North Greenville on Friday.
- The Flames outshot North Greenville by a 20-4 margin in the contest.
- Matthew Zacyzk scored the game-winning goal, Friday. The goal was the second of his career and his first collegiate game-winning goal.
- Rigo Rojas netted Liberty's first goal of the season during the 8th minute of play, Friday.
- Liberty goalkeeper Brogen Engbers made his first collegiate start on Friday. The freshman recorded three saves.
