
Anderson Named a Collegiate Baseball Preseason All-American

Liberty outfielder Aaron Anderson has been named one of Collegiate Baseball’s 2022 Preseason All-Americans, the newspaper announced earlier today.
Anderson, the only player from the ASUN Conference chosen to the squad, earned third team honors.
The outfielder had quite a season in his first year at Liberty. Anderson became only the sixth player in Liberty history to be selected to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Baseball Team. He also picked up ASUN All-Conference first team honors.
Anderson led the ASUN with a .375 batting average, 84 hits and 127 total bases. He had 42 RBI and scored 43 runs in 2021.
A native of Jacksonville, Fla. also led the ASUN Conference in doubles with 25, finishing the year fourth in the nation in two-base hits. His season total is currently second on Liberty’s all-time list. He also had three triples, four home runs and posted a .460 on base percentage and a .567 slugging percentage.
Besides leading the ASUN in four offensive categories, Anderson also was among the conference leaders in runs scored (tied-5th), RBI (tied-5th), triples (tied-3rd) and walks (4th). He was selected as the ASUN Player of the Week for March 22.
One of two Flames to start all 57 games, the left fielder led the Flames with 25 multi-hit games and collected 13 multi-RBI games, the second most by a Flame in 2021. He had an 11-game hitting streak and reached base in 22 consecutive games during the season. In addition, playing in the outfield for the first time in his career, he did not commit an error.
