- The Lady Flames went 2-1 at the season-opening Buccaneer Classic, falling to Auburn on Friday before beating both Akron (3-1) and the host, 2025 SoCon regular-season champion ETSU (3-2) on Saturday.
- Liberty continues to excel in crunch time under second-year Head Coach Jeremy White, as they are now 10-2 in five-set matches over the last two seasons.
- Virginia opened its season on Sunday with a 3-1 home loss to American, with Ohio State transfer Reese Wuebker scoring 18 kills in her UVA debut.
- Liberty was predicted to finish second in the 2026 CUSA Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll. 2025 CUSA All-Conference second-teamers Carly O'Brien, Jenna Otts and Paige Overcash were all voted to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team.
- Sophomore middle blocker Laney Daniell was named CUSA Offensive Player of the Week, Monday. She has set a new career high in kills in all three matches so far this season, topped by a 13-kill, .478 effort against ETSU, Saturday.
- Sophomore setter Alison Bierwagen posted her 11th career double-double on Saturday at ETSU, with 35 assists and a career-high 16 digs.
- On Saturday at ETSU, Paige Overcash (16), Addison Hart (15), Laney Daniell (13) and Layla Collins (10) all reached double-figures in kills, the first time under Coach White Liberty has had four 10-kill scorers in the same match.
- The Lady Flames are 4-1 in sets decided by two points this year, including 2-0 in extended sets. That included a 32-30 set-three win and 18-16 set-five win, Saturday.

- Liberty has won two out of the last three meetings against Virginia, including a 3-0 sweep in its last trip to Charlottesville, Sept. 10, 2019. UVA edged Liberty 3-2 on Sept. 13, 2024 in Lynchburg.
- Last season, only three Lady Flames (Carly O'Brien, Jenna Otts and Paige Overcash) recorded at least one double-digit kill match. Through three matches this year, Liberty has already gotten at least one 10-kill match from five players (Layla Collins, Laney Daniell, Addison Hart, Carly O'Brien and Paige Overcash).
- Jeremy White-coached teams have posted three wins over Power Four programs in the last three seasons, as Southeastern Louisiana beat LSU in 2023 and Liberty picked up its first program wins over the Big Ten (Rutgers) and Big 12 (Houston) last year, White's first as Liberty's head coach.
- After returning just 16.3 percent of its point production from 2024 to 2025, the Lady Flames bring back 86.8 percent of their point production from 2025 into this season.
- Liberty received Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors each of the first five weeks of the 2025 season, in Paige Overcash (three times), Carly O'Brien (Sept. 22) and Jenna Otts (Sept. 29). Laney Daniell earned CUSA Offensive Player of the Week in week one this year.
- Liberty was one of nine NCAA Division I volleyball programs who ended the 2025 regular season with a first-year head coach and 20 or more wins, joining Creighton (Brian Rosen), Eastern Illinois (Ryan Millar), Kansas (Matt Ulmer), Louisville (Dan Meske), Nebraska (Dani Busboom Kelly), North Texas (Dave Fleming, Southeastern Louisiana (Lee McBride) and Toledo (Brian Wright).
- The Lady Flames hit .300 or better eight times in 2025 after hitting .300 just twice in 2024.
- Liberty's Carly O'Brien and Kayla O'Brien are the first pair of sisters to play for Liberty volleyball during the same season since Abby and Kate Phillips in 2021.
