
Schedule for Liberty-Delaware Softball Series Altered

LYNCHBURG, Va. -Â Due to forecasted inclement weather on Friday, this weekend's softball series between Liberty and Delaware has experienced a schedule change. Game one of the series has been moved to a 1 p.m. start on Friday. The games on Saturday and Sunday will be played at their originally scheduled times.

- Coming off of a 7-1 road swing, Liberty (14-16, 7-2 CUSA) returns to Kamphuis Field at Liberty Softball Stadium to host CUSA newcomer Delaware (15-17, 4-5), Friday through Sunday.
- The Lady Flames swept UTEP last week in El Paso, outhitting the Miners .378-.174 and outscoring them 28-5. Liberty hit nine home runs during the series, coming from nine different batters. Liberty then suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat at No. 12 Virginia, Wednesday.
- Delaware enters the weekend on a three-game winning streak, winning the final two games of a series against Missouri State before beating Villanova 5-2, Wednesday.
- Liberty won both the CUSA regular-season and tournament championships each of the last two years. Delaware went 23-4 in CAA play last year, winning the 2025 CAA regular-season title.
- Savannah Jessee homered in Wednesday's game at Virginia, giving Liberty at least one home run in each of the last 10 games.
- Liberty batted .345 as a team during its eight-game road swing, which ended Wednesday. The Lady Flames averaged slightly over eight runs per game, scoring eight or more runs in each of the first seven games on the road trip.
- Maci Strickland hit .500 with one homer and three RBI during the UTEP series, being named CUSA Freshman of the Week. Savannah Jessee hit .625, while Savanah Whatley batted .444 and Ella Fox .429 in El Paso.
- The Lady Flames lead all CUSA teams in conference-only batting average (.351) and on-base percentage (.441), ranking second in home runs (16) and slugging percentage (.641). Liberty's pitching staff is second in CUSA in conference-only ERA (2.09), strikeouts (56) and opponents' batting average (.211)
- Savannah Jessee bats a team-best .348 for the season, with six homers and 21 RBI, while Alexia Carrasquillo (.344) leads the Lady Flames with seven homers and 25 RBI. Ella Fox (.326) brings a seven-game hitting streak into the weekend, while Brynn McManus (.241) has recorded six homers and 18 RBI. Strickland's batting average is climbing toward .300, currently at .295.
- Camden Anders (6-2, 2.98 ERA) has gone 4-1 with a 1.42 ERA in the last eight games, a stretch which included a no-hitter at Middle Tennessee. Danner Allen (4-1, 4.64) leads the team with 7.57 strikeouts per seven innings, while Gabby Mike (3.73) picked up her second win of the season on Friday at UTEP. The pitching staff posted a 2.52 team ERA and .215 opponents batting average during the last eight games.
