LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty freshman Tahj Brown has a unique spring break destination. He is heading to Kujawy Pomorze, Poland on Saturday to represent the Bahamas in the men's 60 hurdles at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships.
All three rounds are slated for Saturday, including the heats at 5:20 a.m. Eastern, the semifinals at 2:48 p.m. Eastern and the final at 4:02 p.m. Eastern. Peacock will televise the meet in the United States.
At 19 years old, Brown is the youngest among 47 entrants representing 34 different nations in the men's 60 hurdles. He is also one of only five total Bahamian athletes heading to Poland, including two men and three women.
Brown has represented his nation on the world stage previously, racing in the men's 110 hurdles at the 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.
Brown excelled during his first indoor season in a Liberty uniform, claiming the CUSA men's 60 hurdles title in a Liberty freshman-record time of 7.70. That effort just missed the CUSA meet record of 7.69 and marked the fifth time Brown had lowered the Flames' freshman standard in 2026.
Brown's 7.70 effort tied him for No. 31 nationally this season, including third among freshmen. He also ranks No. 2 behind All-American Jovaine Atkinson on the Flames' all-time 60 hurdles chart.
