
4 Field Hockey Players Earn NFHCA Scholar of Distinction Honors

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Four Liberty field hockey student-athletes – Autumn Albright, Anna Miller, Caroline Richard and Josefina Tomasi – earned 2025 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division I Scholar of Distinction honors.
Each student-athlete earned the award for achieving a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.90 or higher through the first semester of the 2025-26 academic year. They are four of 341 Division I field hockey players in the nation to receive this prestigious accolade. Anna Miller is a three-time honoree, while Josefina Tomasi is a two-time recipient. Autumn Albright and Caroline Richard each receive their first NFHCA Scholar of Distinction accolades.

- Appeared in two games during fall 2025 campaign
Caroline Richard | Freshman | Midfielder | Towson, Md.
- Honored as NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for first time
- Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad for first time
- Intends on majoring in civil engineering
- Appeared in all 20 games as a freshman
- Tallied one assist on the season
- Notched first career assist in a 7-1 win at No. 17 Appalachian State (Oct. 5)
Josefina Tomasi | Sophomore | Forward | Cañada de Gómez, Argentina
- Honored as NFHCA Scholar of Distinction for second straight year
- Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad for second time
- Intends on majoring in information technology – data networking and security
- Appeared in all 20 games (all starts) during second season, tallied seven goals (tied for first on team), five assists (third on team) and 19 points (third on squad)
- Honored on NFHCA All-South Region first team
- Tabbed to All-BIG EAST second team
- Earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors on Oct. 9 after notching two goals, two assists and six points in home wins over James Madison and Richmond
- Scored highlight-reel goal against JMU that was featured on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 plays listing as the No. 3 play
- Tallied game-winning goal against Villanova (Nov. 7) in BIG EAST Championship semifinals and notched game-tying goal in final minute of regulation against No. 10 Syracuse in the NCAA Field Hockey Championship Sweet 16 (Nov. 14)
