LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty field hockey senior Luna Prieri has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for her efforts this past weekend.
Prieri's award is the first BIG EAST weekly honor of her career. She is also the Lady Flames' first BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week of the 2026 season and first since Tori Griffiths garnered the distinction on Nov. 3, 2025. In addition to Prieri's recognition, junior defender Dara Semmartin was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for a second time this year.
Prieri tallied two goals in games last weekend against Temple and No. 7 Duke, Liberty's final two regular season home contests. The San Luis, Argentina native's goal versus Temple came in the 30th minute on a feed from Clarisa Iudicello to send the home side into intermission with a 2-0 advantage.
Prieri's second goal of the weekend, her eighth of the season, came on Sunday versus the No. 7-ranked Blue Devils in the 14th minute. She scored on a breakaway chance following a successfully defended Duke penalty corner, finishing with a reverse into the cage. In 16 games this year (all starts), Prieri is tied for second on the team in goals with eight and ranks fourth in points (18).
Semmartin totaled a goal and two assists (tied for most on team) for four points over the weekend. In the match against Duke, she notched one goal and an assist. Semmartin scored the game's first goal at the 8:26 mark on a penalty corner shot, her third goal of the season. In the 14th minute, Semmartin assisted on Prieri's fast break goal to push the lead to 2-0.
In Friday's 4-0 triumph over Temple, Semmartin assisted on Avery Pollock's second goal of the day, a penalty corner tally in the 54th minute. Semmartin and the Lady Flames' defense notched their fifth shutout of the season in the win over the Owls to punch their ticket to the 2026 BIG EAST Championship for an 11th straight year.
Liberty has earned 16 BIG EAST weekly awards through nine weeks of the 2026 campaign.
Prieri, Semmartin and No. 12 Liberty (11-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) will play their final regular season game on Friday afternoon at Villanova (10-6, 3-2 BIG EAST). Game time is noon. The contest will be played at Ursinus' Snell Field Hockey Field in Collegeville, Pa.
