Turning Point
Liberty broke through just over three minutes into the match, with Lou Combrinck scoring on a penalty corner at the 3:05 mark for a 1-0 home lead. Richmond evened the game at 1-all following a video referral call, leading to a penalty stroke marker for Amy Stripling.
Less than two minutes before intermission, Liberty sophomore Avery Pollock notched her first career goal to put the Lady Flames ahead for good. Pollock's goal, which made it 2-1 at the time, came on a redirect from the right side on a Lou Combrinck ball blast from the edge of the circle.
A pair of penalty corner goals, one early in the third quarter and the other early in the fourth frame, pushed the Liberty lead up to 4-1. The first of the two goals was a Josefina Tomasi penalty corner redirect at the 34:28 mark. Early in the fourth (46:52), Morena Giacosa's penalty corner tip into the top center of the cage stretched the advantage to three goals. Richmond's Valen Luna Paratore scored the game's final goal with just over five minutes to play. The Liberty defensive unit held the Spiders to only one shot (not on frame) over the final 5:02.

- Combrinck (2 g, 4 a) and Tomasi (3 g, 2 a) share the team lead with eight points apiece through three matches.
- Liberty is 2-0 at home in 2025 and 17-3 at the Liberty Field Hockey Field since the start of the 2023 season.
- Prior to this afternoon's match, the Liberty field hockey program honored one of its program founders, Coach Tilly Brampton, who passed away in 2022. Brampton served as an assistant coach for Liberty field hockey from 2011-15 and was the associate head coach in 2016 during her final season. Her father, David, was in attendance, along with former head coach and program founder Jodi Murphy and several alums. A plaque honoring the life of Brampton is now displayed in the Liberty dugout to carry on her legacy and memory.
