
Field Hockey’s Saint Martin Tabbed to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Liberty freshman Diane Saint Martin has been tabbed to the BIG EAST Field Hockey Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in last Friday's win at Quinnipiac.
Saint Martin, a goalkeeper, is being honored in the weekly awards for a second straight week after being named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week one week ago.
Saint Martin recorded a shutout in her lone start last week at Quinnipiac, a 2-0 win in the BIG EAST opener. Saint Martin's clean sheet was her second of the season and second in the last three games. The freshman netminder from Paris, France made one save in the road game against the Bobcats.
Saint Martin and the Liberty defense held Quinnipiac off the scoreboard despite the hosts earning five penalty corners. The unit limited the Bobcats to six total shots on the day. The Lady Flames improved to 8-1 all-time versus Quinnipiac and 9-1 all-time in BIG EAST openers with the victory.
In six games (all starts), Saint Martin boasts a 5-1 record with a 1.34 goals-against-average, 20 saves, a .714 save percentage and two shutouts. Liberty ranks No. 17 nationally in shutouts per game (0.33).
Saint Martin and No. 5 Liberty (5-1, 1-0 BIG EAST) will face Connecticut (3-4, 1-0 BIG EAST) in their BIG EAST opener, Friday night. Match time between the Lady Flames and Huskies is 6 p.m. from the Liberty Field Hockey Field and can be seen on ESPN+.
