Turning Point
Late in the first quarter, the Lady Flames broke through for the first time on their fourth penalty corner of the period. Following an insert and ensuing stick stop, Dara Semmartin sent the ball towards the left post, and it was tipped into the cage by Morena Giacosa for her third goal of the season at the 14:28 mark.
Liberty maintained a 1-0 lead at the half and nearly midway through the third quarter before adding an insurance goal. Josefina Tomasi received a ball in the right side of the circle, turned and found an open Luna Prieri. Prieri blasted a one timer past Bobcats netminder Cristina Torres at the 36:28 mark for a 2-0 lead and her second goal of the campaign. The Lady Flames earned six penalty corners and tallied 10 shots in the third period.
Quinnipiac pulled its goalkeeper with 5:37 remaining in the game, trailing 2-0. The Bobcats managed one penalty corner with just over two minutes left but could not cut into the two-goal advantage of Liberty.
