
Liberty and James Madison Play to Scoreless Tie

LYNCHBURG, VA. – The Liberty Flames played the James Madison Dukes to a scoreless draw Saturday evening at Osborne Stadium to remain unbeaten on the season.
Play throughout the match was relegated to the midfield, with neither team able to sustain an offensive attack.
The Dukes did have a flurry of three shots at the end of the first half. However, Liberty goalkeeper Tyler Beck turned away all three attempts as time ran out in the half to keep the contest scoreless.
The Flames also came close to breaking through on the scoreboard late in the second half. Defender Lucas Kelley got a shot on a corner kick at the left post during the 85th minute, but James Madison goalkeeper Erick Jaspers snatched it from the goal line to keep the game scoreless. A few seconds later, Liberty midfielder Spencer Moler sent a shot off the left goal post.
Liberty moves to 4-0-2 on the year. James Madison runs its record to 0-4-1 on the season.
