
Liberty Picked 4th in the 2025 OVC Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Liberty Flames have been selected to finish fourth in the 2025 Ohio Valley Conference Preseason Men's Soccer Poll.
The Flames received 64 points to garner fourth place in the poll voted upon by the conference's coaches and sports information directors.
The two-time defending champion SIUE was picked to claim the OVC crown once again. The Cougars received 14 first-place votes and 98 points in being selected first.
Houston Christian followed SIUE with two first-place votes and 69 votes for second place, edging out Lindenwood, which garnered 67 points.
After Liberty in fourth place, Incarnate Word received 55 points for fifth place. Western Illinois (39 points), Eastern Illinois (38) and Southern Indiana (18 points) round out the poll.
The top six teams in the conference standings will qualify for the 2025 OVC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament, which will take place Nov. 9, 13 & 16 in St. Charles, Mo., on the campus of Lindenwood University. The top two teams in the conference standings will receive a first-round bye.
In addition to the preseason poll, Liberty sophomore midfielder Aidan Morrison was named one of the OVC Players to Watch. The Flames' midfielder played in all 17 games with 16 starts as a freshman. Morrison scored two goals and had three assists for seven points. He was named to the 2025 OVC Newcomer team and was ranked as one of the Top 20 Freshmen in the country by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
